Our Story
The Dong Son drum, a traditional symbol for Vietnamese culture, is based on the agricultural activities patterns, daily life and provides insight into the Vietnamese people’s lives. If you take a closer look at our Glassia bottle, you will notice that the traditional symbols of the drum have been adapted to tell a story of life above and below the sea. Glassia blends the bronze drum image from the old age with the symbols representing today’s marine life to convey the message of a more balanced, sustainable life with nature.
The theme for the design is based on the bronze drum however it has been thoughtfully adapted to water and the relationship we have with it. Glassia selected a fish as their totem, rather than the customary totems of birds, animals, and humans dancing on the ground. On this unique bronze drum, the primary totem fish may reflect aquatic life. There are also marine mascots such as turtles, corals, and numerous representations of human activities centered on the ocean on Glassia’s bronze drum. This emphasizes the need for a more balanced and sustainable relationship with nature.
